How to read an NGX share price
By Gopexly · Updated 2026-10-11
The last price
On a Gopexly stock page the large naira figure is the latest price stored for that ticker. It comes from Gopexly’s market table, which is updated from NGX price data. It is a description of the last figure we have, not a prediction and not an offer to sell you the share.
Prices are shown in naira. A move from 20 to 21 is one naira. The same one-naira move is a much smaller percentage on a share priced at 1,000. Compare percentages when you are comparing moves, and still remember that a percentage is not a verdict.
Change and volume
The daily change is how that stored price compares with the previous close in the feed, both in naira and in percent. A positive figure means the latest price is higher than that reference. A negative figure means it is lower. It does not say why, and it does not say what tomorrow’s close will be.
Volume is the number of shares recorded as traded in the session behind that quote. A high volume means more shares changed hands. It does not, by itself, mean the company announced good news or bad news. Some sessions are busy because of a large holder, an index change, or ordinary turnover.
What the page will not invent
Gopexly does not fill in a 52-week high or low by stretching today’s price. If a figure is not in the data, the page leaves it out. The community section counts public posts that actually mention the ticker. It is not a bullish or bearish score.
The gainers and losers pages rank the same stored prices by daily percent change. The market wrap describes that session in words. None of those pages is a research report. Gopexly is not a broker and does not give investment advice. For education only.
