Aradel hit the 10% floor today. What it means
Aradel Holdings closed down 10% today at ₦1,377 (from ₦1,530). That's the most any stock can fall in a single NGX session. eTranzact went the other way, up 10% to ₦12.10.
3 things worth knowing:
1. 10% is the daily limit. A stock that closes exactly -10% may still have sellers waiting, so watch the next session before reading too much into one day.
2. This isn't new for Aradel. It also hit the floor on Aug 19 (to ₦1,374.20) and Sept 10 (to ₦1,413). Both times it was back above ₦1,500 within a few weeks. Past moves don't promise a repeat, but one red day isn't the whole story.
3. Big names move the index. Aradel is worth about ₦6 trillion, so a 10% drop can pull the ASI down even when many smaller stocks are fine. Always check gainers vs losers, not just the headline number.
Portfolio tip: if one stock or one sector makes up most of your portfolio, days like today hit harder. Open your Gopexly portfolio and check how concentrated you are.
