Dangote Cement ran 33% in three days. Now its results are out

Where we start: on Tuesday the All-Share Index rose 1.07% to a record 253,990.06, and the market is now up 63.22% this year. But only 20 stocks rose while 36 fell. The big story this morning is DANGCEM logo$DANGCEM The stock went from ₦1,010 last Thursday to ₦1,341.90 on Tuesday, about 33% in three sessions. Its nine-month results landed after that run: • Revenue up 19.6% to ₦3.77trn • Profit after tax up 31.2% to a record ₦974.8bn • Q3 alone: profit after tax up 50.9% to ₦336.3bn • Finance costs down about 58%, and the company swung from ₦682.9bn net debt at the end of 2025 to ₦51.1bn net cash Three things worth watching today: 1. How does the market react? Strong numbers after a big run can go either way. Some of the good news may already be in the price, so watch whether buyers still show up. 2. Banks had a mixed night. GTCO logo$GTCO 's nine-month pre-tax profit slipped 2.3% to ₦879.9bn, and after-tax profit fell 12.2% to ₦614.6bn. Interest expense rose 27.7% and the tax bill rose about 32%. Ecobank also filed its Q3 numbers. 3. Does breadth improve? Two record days in a row came with more losers than gainers. A healthier rally would see more stocks join in. Also: the Dangote Refinery IPO closed last night. Allotment is now being checked, and the listing date hasn't been announced yet. Want to see how today's moves hit your own holdings?
